Nurse
Our school nurse, Mrs. McKinney, performs a variety of duties at St. Charles High School to keep our students healthy and safe. She provides direct student care - assessing student health needs, conducts mandatory health screenings, oversees maintenance of student health and immunization records, administers medication, provides emergency first aid to students and staff and works with the Department of Health in the control of communicable diseases.
We ask that you keep your student's health and emergency information updated with current names and telephone numbers by contacting Mrs. McKinney at 636-443-4103. Student Health Information is updated yearly. Please keep your school nurse updated on your child's health status, such as surgeries, medications, illnesses/diseases, new diagnoses, or other conditions that may affect your child's school performance.
The St. Charles Health Department offers an Immunization Clinic to all residents.
Immunization Updates for Seniors
Before a student is allowed to attend the first day of school it is mandated by the state that they are up to date on all of their immunizations. In 2016-17 Missouri added a new immunization requirement for ALL SENIORS! Two doses of Meningococcal (MCV4, Menactra or Menveo) are required. The second does MUST be after a student's 16th birthday. The only exception is if the student received their first does after his/her 16th birthday, then this is the only does they will need.
Students MAY NOT ATTEND school without proper immunization and documentation. All documentation must provide month/day/year and include a signature and/or stamp of provider. The Meningococcal must be specified as MCV4, MENACTRA or MENVEO. If the documentation only states, Meningococcal and does not specify MCV4, MENACTRA or MENVEO, it CANNOT be accepted. PLEASE COMMUNICATE THIS WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN.
If your child is up-to-date on all immunizations, please fax, mail, or bring a statement, certificate or record from a physician or other recognized health facility or personnel as soon as possible. If you are faxing it, please call Mrs. McKinney to verify that is was received. It must be in no later than 7/25 for all seniors.
Children in noncompliance will be prohibited from enrolling, obtaining schedules or attending school according to state law and district policy.
Thanks for your cooperation.
